Prestained Protein Marker is an essential tool used in Western blotting and SDS-PAGE.

Product Specification

Prestained Protein Marker VIII YB3189-250uL, is composed of 11 highly purified, prestained recombinant proteins. In Tris-Glycine gels, it indicates a molecular weight range of 8 to 270 kDa, corresponding to approximately 8, 13, 20, 30, 40, 55, 68, 90, 130, 165, and 270 kDa.

The 90 kDa, 30 kDa, and 8 kDa protein bands are magenta, while all other bands are blue. This distinct color coding facilitates real-time monitoring of electrophoresis progress and assessment of protein transfer efficiency during blotting.

It is suitable for use as a protein molecular weight standard in both SDS-PAGE and Western blotting.

Storage

Transported with ice packs (wet ice); stored at -20°C, valid for 12 months.

Operation Step

1. This product is ready-to-use. Thaw the Prestained Protein Marker (stored at -20°C) to room temperature and mix gently and fully before use.

2. Load 2–10 μL of the marker alongside your experimental samples during electrophoresis. For optimal results and cost-effectiveness, it is recommended that users perform a preliminary experiment to determine the ideal loading volume based on their specific laboratory conditions.

3. After each use, promptly return the Prestained Protein Marker to -20°C for storage. (It is recommended to aliquot the marker into 20 μL portions for repeated use.)

Notice

1. Avoid heating or boiling this prestained marker, as high temperatures can cause protein degradation and fading of the colored bands.

2. To ensure efficient transfer of high molecular weight proteins during Western blotting, increase either the transfer duration or the voltage.

3. Stability: Stable for ≥20 days at room temperature, ≥2 months at 2-8°C, and ≥12 months at -20°C.

4. Use appropriate personal protective equipment, including a lab coat and disposable gloves.
